About the owners

Together, Alexis Williams and Dr. Alonzia J. Downing bring decades of experience, a shared passion for advocacy, and the heart of motherhood to every family they serve.

Alexis Williams, MA,CCC-SLP

Alexis Williams, MA, CCC-SLP is a proud graduate of South Carolina State University and the University of Florida. She is the mother of two neurodivergent sons, and Autism advocacy is not just her passion it’s her life’s work. Alexis has been navigating the autism spectrum since her children were in daycare, supporting them through every stage of life, including elementary and secondary education, post-secondary learning, and now independent living as young adults.


With over 35 years of experience as an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, Alexis brings a deeply rooted and well-rounded perspective to her practice. Her clinical background spans across the lifespan and includes work in Early Intervention, Healthcare, Private Practice, Schools, and Telepractice. For nearly two decades, she has focused her expertise within school settings.


In addition to her clinical work, Alexis held a leadership role managing a speech-language pathology and multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation team at a top-ranked healthcare system and Level I Trauma Center. She also served on the inaugural Parent Advisory Board for Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Exceptional Children’s Department, where she was Vice-Chair for three years. Alexis is a committed advocate for inclusion, equity, and access for individuals with diverse needs and abilities.

Alonzia J. Downing, EdD.

 Dr. Alonzia J. Downing is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where her passion for advocacy first took root. She later earned her Master’s degree from North Carolina Central University and her Doctorate in Education (EdD) from Aspen University.


Dr. Downing began her career as a teacher for exceptional children, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year. Driven by a desire to make an even greater impact, she transitioned into the field of speech-language pathology, providing assessments, therapy, and case management for clients of all ages.


Her commitment to advocacy is also deeply personal. As the mother of twins one of whom was born with global developmental delays and significant communication challenges she has walked the journey that many families face. Through persistence, collaboration, and individualized support, she and her husband helped their son achieve meaningful progress, giving her a unique perspective that blends both professional expertise and lived experience.


Today, Dr. Downing leads families through the complexities of early intervention, school-based services, community resources, and the IEP process. With a foundation rooted in compassion, clarity, and empowerment, she is dedicated to equipping parents and schools with the tools needed to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Our mission is to equip families with the knowledge, resources, and confidence needed to navigate the unique challenges of raising a child with special needs because no one should walk this path alone.


Drawing from our combined expertise, we offer a collaborative and compassionate approach to supporting families. We help parents set meaningful, achievable goals in key areas like home life, education, and community engagement. We also offer guidance to educators, caregivers, and community members working with children with special needs providing practical tools and strategies that foster inclusive, nurturing environments.


Together, Alexis and Alonzia share a vision of building a community where every child regardless of background or ability has the opportunity to thrive. Through collaboration, advocacy, and unwavering commitment, they are making a lasting impact in the lives of families and in the broader community.
